1124 Damar Varnish 250ml by Cranfield

Damar Varnish is a traditional formulation that uses the naturally occurring crystals of Damar tree resin

The crystals are dispersed in a suitable medium, turpentine, which creates a varnish that is easy to apply and which dries to a hard film with moderate to high gloss.

Damar varnish has what is generally viewed as an advantage over many synthetic equivalents in that it can be removed at a later date with a solvent when repair and restoration is required.

Damar varnish can be applied thinly for a muted effect or as several thin layers that can be built up to provide a more reflective finish. It is important that each layer is allowed to thoroughly cure before the application of the next.
