PILM TENDY Canvas Stretching Machines

Tendy machines, made in Italy by Pilm.

The unique clamping mechanism grips canvas without piercing - it allows a small amount of slip, to ensure the correct tension. Safely stretch giclee, canvas transfers and oil paintings.

Unique to the TENDY machines is the wide opening of the clamp bars, 13mm, to help you insert the canvas edge before stapling.

A safety control system ensures that the clamp closes slowly and cannot squash fingers. Operating height is adjustable.

The pushers are adjustable to almost any thickness of stretcher bar. A second set is supplied for bars over 50mm wide.

For traditional stretching, you'll need a minimum of 19mm selvage all round when stapling on the sides. For that you can use a normal air or electric stapler.

For modern gallery style stretching, when stapling onto the back, you'll need a selvage of 38mm minimum. Use an air stapler with a long nose of 38mm or greater.

TENDY 100 has a working max frame size of 1000mm / 39".

TENDY 150 has a working max frame size of 1500mm / 59".

Tendy machines are made from steel, with adjustable foot levellers. Supplied complete with full instructions, air filter and foot switch. Machines need a compressed air supply, plus a supply for the stapler.
