Delivery charges and minimum order values explained

  • There is no minimum order value on orders for delivery to UK mainland addresses. Other minimum order values apply as outlined in this table.

  • If you are ordering mountboard and other sheet materials, you must order at least ten sheets. Read about our Mixed Sheet Despatch service below.

  • Our prices are trade prices for regular trade purchasers. We don’t work on the kind of margins that retailers use to subsidise delivery costs.

  • Our delivery charges are higher than you’d get from a retailer. Most of our parcels are big and heavy and we use carriers who have the capacity to deliver them to our trade customers on a signed-for service. We don’t have other options for small orders.

  • If our pack quantities / delivery charges are a bit much for you, we have several resellers who offer lots of our products in smaller quantities with retail-style delivery charges. You’ll find several on Amazon and eBay, or try ukpictureframingsupplies.co.uk.

Mixed Sheet Despatch / ordering mountboard

Ordering mountboard and other sheet materials from LION is easy! Remember - you don't have to order full packs.

Just choose ten sheets or more, any mixture of:

Why can't I checkout?

This is usually for one of two reasons:

  • You have fewer than ten sheets of mountboard or other sheet materials in your basket. The minimum order is 10 sheets. For more information about our Mixed Sheet Despatch service, click here.

  • You’re in one of these Scottish Highland, Northern Ireland or UK Offshore postcodes. For delivery to these addresses, there is a minimum order value of £50.

Paying for your order

  • We accept most major credit and debit cards, with the exception of American Express.

  • If you have a credit account, you can use this online. Email creditcontrol@lionpic.co.uk if you’re not seeing the option at checkout or you would like to open a credit account.

  • We do not accept PayPal.

Tracking your order

Once despatched, you will receive an email with links to track the delivery. The despatch of an order can sometimes span over two days so don't be alarmed if all the items ordered aren’t shown on the initial tracking email. You will receive further notification when the remainder of your order is despatched.

Receiving your delivery / damaged goods

As trade suppliers we use commercial carriers to deliver your goods - most orders are delivered by DX Freight, and the rest via FedEx. We do not deliver via Royal Mail.

Carriers assume that your premises are clearly marked and open 9.00am – 5.30pm from Monday to Friday. We cannot specify a time or make provision to delivery outside these hours. You can provide an alternative delivery address in 'My Account' or during checkout. You will receive an email on the morning of the delivery from DX Freight.

When you receive a delivery, check and count the parcels. If anything is damaged or missing, ask the driver to make a note then let us know in one of the following ways:

Stock availability and due dates

Due dates shown online are exactly the same as the information as we see in the office. You can request to be automatically notified when something comes back into stock.

Please note that due dates can change as a result of factors outside our control. We recommend that you do not commit to project completion dates that are contingent on stock arriving precisely when predicted. We cannot accept any claims for losses due to inaccurate or unreliable stock levels or due dates.

How do I return something?

- Please complete this form.

- Within 2 working days you will receive a returns number to write on the outside of the parcel. Please do not send the parcel until you’ve received this – it will help us process your return promptly.

- Returns must be made within 28 days of receipt.

- Returns are at your own expense unless the item was sent in error, or we establish that the item is faulty.

- Unwanted items must be 'as new' and in their original packaging.

Note re Logan mountcutters:

LION stock an extensive range of mount cutters, from Logan hand bevel cutters through Logan baseboard cutters up to the professional Keencut and Fletcher cutters. Every one of these needs self-training, patience and experience to achieve optimum quality results. This means several hours practice to gain some proficiency. Essentially, the higher the price the greater the level of quality, engineering and efficiency in use.

For example, all Logan baseboard machines have a fibre board base which is very good for their purpose but the aluminium bases of the professional cutters are more dimensionally stable. Customer assembly is required on all makes of mountcutter. They can only be returned for credit if it is clearly established that there is a manufacturing fault. We recommend that you download and read the free 88pp ‘Home Picture Framing’ book, offered with all Logan products.

Why might the amount of moulding on my invoice be more than I ordered?

Wood moulding inconveniently doesn't come in standard lengths. Even within the same batch it can vary between 2.5m and 3m. When you order we ask you to enter the number of metres you want, and we will round up to the nearest whole length.

This means you will often get slightly more than you ordered, which ensures you always have enough moulding to complete the job. You will always be invoiced for the exact amount we send you.

How do I open a credit account?

We are happy to offer our customers credit terms. Please complete this application form or contact our Credit Controller Shane O’Driscoll for more information.

We can also help you spread the cost of professional framing equipment over 3 monthly instalments:

  • 3 instalments made 30, 60 and 90 days from invoice at 0% interest on equipment over £1000
  • You’ll need to open a credit account to apply

Do you have a trade counter?

We no longer have a trade counter and we do not operate click and collect. You can order online for delivery, now with no minimum order.
