10578 Positioning Tool For STAS Cobra Suspenders

The well proven design of the forged metal hook on Cobra suspenders means that once hooked into the hanging rail, they won’t easily come out. They can be moved side-to-side very easily.

Typically a step ladder is needed to help reach up to hook a Cobra suspender into a STAS hanging rail. This Positioning Tool, designed and made in UK by LION, lets anyone hook a Cobra suspender while standing on the floor. It is adjustable for length between 840mm and 1470mm to which add to the height of the person using it.

To use the Positioning Tool:

- Set the Positioning Tool length by twisting the two parts of the handle and extend as required. Twist again to lock the length.

- Hold the tool in the right hand leaving the left hand to hold the Cobra suspender in tension. The V cut-outs in the cage should be on the face away from the wall.

- Take the Cobra perlon and push firmly into the V cut-outs in the cage. Let it protrude about 4” /100mm and twist it so the open ‘hook’ is facing up.

- Reach up with the tool, while holding the Cobra in tension. Catch the hook into the underside of the rail and pull it away from the rail with the left hand and it should stay in place.

Practice will refine the user’s technique. It can be used as it is by right-handers and left-handers. To modify for left-handers, just remove the two screws and turn the cage over. After use, the Positioning Tool can be hung on a nail.

Specification: The Positioning Tool handle is two steel tubes, painted, approx 25mm in diameter. The ‘cage’ is stainless steel micro-de-burred to smooth all edges.

Important – the STAS Positioning Tool will not work with other brands of suspenders.
