Liberon Finishing Oil gives a natural low-lustre finish to all woods

• Nourishes and enhances bare wood moulding.
• Suitable for all types of bare wood mouldings.
• Satin or gloss finish depending on the number of coats applied.
• Produces a hard wearing finish that is water, heat, alcohol and food acid resistant.

Based on tung oil - just brush or wipe it on. Any surplus can be wiped off after a few minutes. New wood requires 2-3 coats.

Liberon Finishing Oil penetrates the wood, to give a hard durable finish, without leaving a thick film. It can be overcoated with any oil based paint or varnish later, if desired.

Store Finishing Oil at a temperature above 5°C. Always replace the lid otherwise the oil can deteriorate.

Before application

Ensure the moulding is bare. Remove any varnish finishes with Fine Wood Stripper and any wax finishes with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover. Clean and dry, ensuring the surface is dust-free. Stain the wood with Palette Wood Dye before oiling, if required.

Applying Liberon Finishing Oil

Shake well before use. Apply a coat of Liberon Finishing Oil using a brush or lint-free cotton cloth. Allow the oil to penetrate into the moulding for up to 10 minutes then wipe off all the excess with a clean lint-free cloth. Do this before the surface dries enough to become sticky.

Allow to dry for a minimum of five hours and apply more coats as required. We recommend a minimum of three coats. The more coats applied the higher the sheen and the more durable the finish will be. For best results gently rub with Liberon Ultrafine Steel Wool (grade 0000) between coats. Furniture items may be finished with Liberon Wax Polish Black Bison for an improved lustre.

Tips

Liberon Finshing Oil brings out the natural colours of timber. A wet surface will be an indication of the final colour. Always test the product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility and end result.

Surfaces may be cleaned using a damp cloth and spills should be wiped up immediately. For stubborn stains a mild detergent can be used. Surfaces need to be re-oiled once a year or more, depending upon usage.
