C3202 ColourMount White 0.75mm Museum Barrier Board 1 sheet
Use as a barrier between artwork and backing board
Made from 100% cotton and naturally acid-free, this is the best barrier board to help give lasting protection to your customers’ most cherished art on paper.
• 0.75mm thick, 1020mm x 815mm / 40" x 32"
• Meets and exceeds FATG specification for mountboard quality Level 1, Museum
• Solid colour means that the face, core and backing are all the same white tint
Made from 100% cotton fibre:
The longer fibres are combed first from the cotton boll and used for textiles. Fine hairs called linters left on the cotton seeds are removed by the cotton seed oil producers. Bales of those are sent to fine paper makers who pulp them to make cotton paper. Nothing is wasted.
Acid-free:
Cotton Museum barrier board is naturally acid-free. Boards are buffered with calcium carbonate to a minimum pH of 7.8 giving continuing protection from hostile environmental factors. Minimal chemicals are used in the entire cotton paper making process.
Laminating adhesive:
The cotton paper sheets are laminated together using an inert archival adhesive that is acid-free. Unlike many other mountboards, they are fully recyclable.
Pigment colouring and quality control:
Only the finest pigments are used in the making process to ensure that the tints will not fade. Tints of successive batches are matched using computerised measurement systems. Cotton Museum board is carefully tested during the making process to ensure conformance to the TAPPI and ASTM specifications in the Fine Art Trade Guild standards for Museum quality mountboards, Level 1.
Place between art on paper and the backing board:
By placing Cotton Museum Barrier Board between the art on paper and the frame backing board, it minimises the risk of any acid migration from the backing board to the art on paper.
All Cotton Museum boards and barrier board in the ColourMount range meet the Fine Art Trade Guild specification for Museum quality mountboards, Level 1.
In addition to this 0.75mm White Cotton Museum Barrier Board, there are four tints of 1.5mm Cotton Museum board in the ColourMount range.
