Mount Cutters

A must for any framing workshop, from hobbyists to professional framers. A Mount Cutter cuts a straight or a 45° bevel in the mountboard, used for cutting a sheet of mountboard to size to mount the artwork. They vary in size and function to suit every framers' needs, for mass production a workbench mounted machine is recommended, for smaller production and hobby framers a hand held mountcutter may suffice.

We sell Keencut mount cutters which take mat cutting to unrivalled accuracy and efficiency. These machines are ideal for a busy framing workshop or a high production shop.

We also sell Logan machines for mat cutting which are more suited to the hobbyist or workshops with lower production levels. They are entry level machines that offer great results at affordable and competitive prices. Their machines range from a hang held Team System to the large Logan 450-1 which makes it easy for framers, artists and photographers to cut mountboard.

Are you new to cutting beveled mounts? 

LION stocks a range of mount cutters, from Logan hand bevel cutters through to baseboard cutters up to the professional Keencut and Fletcher cutters. Each mount cutter requires a degree of self-training, patience and experience to achieve optimum results. This means several hours of practice is needed to gain some level of proficiency. Essentially, the higher the price of the machine, the greater the level of quality, engineering and efficiency in use. 

For example, all Logan baseboard machines have a fibre board base which is very good for their purpose but the aluminium bases of the professional cutters are more stable. Customer assembly is required on all makes of mountcutter. They can only be returned for credit if it is clearly established that there is a manufacturing fault.
