Brass Wire has a traditional look and feel, but can be a bit fiddly to work with as it frays easily.

Soft Stainless Steel Wire won’t corrode and is easy to twist and tie. The Plastic Coated version is kinder on your fingertips.

Semi-Stiff Stainless Steel Wire gives a neat finish - it must be used with ferrules as it can’t be tied.

Ferrules - slide onto the wire before looping through the hangers; pass back through the ferrule and crimp. Only suitable for lightweight pictures.
